Understanding Blockchain

Target audience: Any developer (Regardless of programming language)
Topic 1: Blockchain concept.
Topic 2: Blockchain practical coding example.

Being secure by design, blockchains are getting popular, not only in cryptocurrency but also in Proptech, finance or wherever we need very secured, immutable and distributed data.

Schedule:

11:00-12:00: Let's understand what exactly is blockchain? How does it work? Different terms used in the blockchain, their principles, and importance. We will also understand how the blockchain works in theory.

12:00-13:30: Once we know the basics, we will implement a basic blockchain. It can be implemented in any language like C++, Java, Python, PHP, JavaScript etc but we will do it in JavaScript as most developers understand JavaScript. Even if you do not know JS, code will be properly explained and easy to follow.

13:30 onwards (until last attendee leave): Fun time. Raffle out PHP Storm/Web Storm license, and stickers, followed by any technical Q&A, discussions and networking over snacks.

After this meetup, you will have a fair understanding of what is blockchain, its keywords/principles and how to implement a basic blockchain. We do not have sufficient time to implement a custom cryptocurrency but with the principles and examples covered during this meetup, some R&D, you will be able to implement your own cryptocurrency or any other immutable blockchain.

Speaker: Kapil Sharma, Technical Architect (Eastern Enterprise)

Attendance Fee:
Rs 100.
Reason of introducing fee: PHP Reboot is 'not for profit' developers' community. Between[masked], PHP Reboot never charged any fee for any meetup. As a result, we had a trend where many people RSVP but we always have 10-50% attendance. This is disappointing and discouraging for the organizers and speaker(s). Thus, after careful consideration, we decided to have a minimal fee of Rs 100 (Not too much but still enough for fake RSVP) so that only those who are serious to attend, should RSVP to the event. The amount will be used to cover some of the meetup.com fees and t-shirts for speakers (except Kapil and Ramesh).

How to attend:
1. RSVP here (You will be in waitlist)
2. Pay Rs 100 using UPI to phpreboot@upi (You can use BHIM or Google Pay or any other UPI app)
3. Whatsapp Kapil [masked]) to confirm payment. Your RSVP will be converted from Waitlist to confirmed (Yes).

Can't afford Rs. 100? You are most welcome, even if you are unemployed or student, who can't afford the attendance fee. Just RSVP and send a message to Kapil or Ramesh on meetup.com with your contact information. Kapil or Ramesh will call you and sponsor (pay) your RSVP.

Another option, share your knowledge by presenting any topic (If accepted) in any of the PHP Reboot meetup and you will get free pass for 3 PHP Reboot meet-ups (In next one year). Contact Kapil or Ramesh if you want to present any topic in PHP Reboot meet-ups. Speaker (except Kapil and Ramesh) will also get a PHP Reboot t-shirt. Whole purpose here is to make a small but quality community where latest trends and advanced technical topics are covered frequently.
