We re-introduced the notion of a Symfony Core Team back in 2014 with 9 people. Along the years, we’ve added more core team members: Christophe Coevoet just after the introduction of the core team, Ryan Weaver at the end of 2014, Kevin Dunglas in early 2015, Abdellatif AitBoudad and Christian Flothmann mid-2015, Grégoire Pineau in 2016, Robin Chalas and Maxime Steinhausser in 2017, Tobias Nyholm to manage Symfony recipes at the end of 2017, Michael Cullum to manage our security issue process in early 2018, Samuel Roze mid-2018, and Yonel Ceruto in 2019.
It’s great to see that almost all current core team members are still very active in the project. For more than 10 years for some of them. That’s impressive and very valuable for the project to have such a commitment from people working on Symfony on their free time.
As we’re reaching the end of 2020 pretty fast, it’s time to acknowledge the work of some contributors and promote them.
I’m very happy to welcome Alexander M. Turek aka derrabus, Tobias Nyholm, Jérémy Derussé, and Wouter de Jong in the Symfony Core Team. They are all long-time contributors and they have all made tons of contributions along the years. You will find their work in many Symfony releases and they’ve been key to the new features of Symfony 5.2.
I’m very glad that they accepted to join the Core Team. Let’s give them a virtual round of applause.
