New Documentation¶

Ryan Weaver wrote a new article on upgrading Symfony in your project. In a step by step way, it describes how to upgrade a patch version (e.g. 2.6.0 to 2.6.1) or a minor version (e.g. 2.5.x to 2.6.x).

After a discussion with Bernhard (the merger of the Validation component), Peter Rehm decided to fix and add more details to the Validation Groups section. Hopefully, it will make this difficult topic easier to understand.

Thanks to Christian Flothmann, the documentation is finally updated the Security form chapter to use the new authentication utilities added in Symfony 2.6.

New Proposals¶

Daniel Leech created a pull request that adds a spelling checker to the Travis builds. This fits perfectly in the goal of making the Symfony documentation even easier to contribute to.

Meanwhile, based on the website traffic stats, Javier Eguiluz proposed to remove some contents from the Symfony Book. This include the Propel, Internals and Stable API chapters. By moving the important bits to other articles, no details should be lost.

Documentation Activity¶

This month has been the first time in the documentation history that more than 100 pull requests were merged. The total of 111 pull requests contained 450+ commits, 2600 additions and 1800 deletions. We'd like to thank everyone who contributed for making this a record-breaking month!
