Please note this month's meeting date has changed! This meeting will occur on the *second* Wednesday, December 12th.
Advent of Code is a holiday-themed coding challenge. https://adventofcode.com/2018/about
During the meeting we will begin coding starting on challenge from Day 1. We will work as a group (mob programming style) with one person driving the keyboard but everyone making suggestions and ideas on how to code it. Often we use test-driven development (TDD) to design a solution and test that it works.
Feel free to sit and observe or offer your own coding suggestions! Everyone is welcome.
Schedule:
6:00pm - Mingling / Meet and Greet
6:15pm - Lightning Talk: Last Month in PHP
6:30pm - Hack Night - Advent of Code
Attendees will have the chance to ask questions or give short presentations, or sit back and just observe! No programming or PHP experience required :)
We understand Web Developers often come from all backgrounds, and many work in more languages than PHP. Whether you're curious and just starting out, dabble in PHP on the weekends, write custom PHP on a daily basis, work in a framework like Symfony, Zend Framework, Silex, Slim, Laravel, CakePHP or customize CMS products like WordPress, Drupal or Joomla; our goal is that you will find something new, useful and thought provoking.
Interested in giving a presentation to the group, or demoing something you're working on? Contact one of the organizers through Meetup or talk after a monthly meeting to sign up! http://www.meetup.com/kcphpug/suggestion/
